Varieties of Affiliate Marketing


There are various varieties of affiliate marketing and the type depends upon how we classify them. Affiliate marketing mainly classify in two categories:-

1) PPC (Pay-Per-Click)
2) PPP (Pay-Per-Performance)

Pay Per Click (PPC)
PPC is one of the most popular types of affiliate marketing used to affiliate with small websites and becomes an easy way to earn online money. In this type the merchant pays to its affiliate whenever a visitor referred to its website and the affiliate also gets paid a certain amount even if the visitor visits the website but not purchased anything.

Pay Per Performance (PPF)
PPP is most popular among merchants and the most rewarding type of affiliate. In this type the merchant pays only to the affiliate when any visitor buys something from the merchant’s website. The main advantage of PPP is that the commission in PPP affiliate marketing results in the range of 15% to 20% of the actual sales and in case of e-products the commission goes on 70-75% of the sales.PPP can be classified into two further types:-

a) Pay-Per-Sales (PPS)
b) Pay-Per-Lead (PPL)

Pay Per Sales (PPS)
In this type the merchant pays the affiliate a certain amount whenever the visitor visits the merchant’s website and buys something. Affiliates generally work on commission basis and they are paid higher than the amount paid to PPC affiliate programs.

Pay Per Lead (PPL)
Pay per Lead is a little bit upgraded version of Pay per Sales and is mainly used by insurance and finance companies. In this the merchant paid to the affiliate whenever the visitor visits the merchant’s website and fills an application form related to the business of merchant’s website.
